Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for a Project Manager at ABB Oy, Marine and Ports division in Vuosaari, Helsinki.

You will oversee ABB Marine’s Azipod© Propulsion new building delivery projects. In this position, you will provide project leadership by working with ABB project teams. You will be working mainly with shipyards and ship owners to ensure customer satisfaction and ABB’s delivery promise to its customers.

This position reports to Head of Project Management.

You will be mainly accountable for:

– Project leadership by leading and motivating the project team

– Develop and manage project plans, schedules, finances, and risk & opportunities management.

Oversee project efficiency and ensure all contractual obligations are met, applying industry best practices.

– Handle contracts, claims, and procurement per ABB policies.

– Strive to exceed customer expectations.

– Act as the main contact for stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and project updates.

– Ensure projects comply with ABB’s health, safety, and environmental policies.

Qualifications for the role:

– M.Sc. in Engineering, Economics, or a related field, with a proven track record of 3+ years in project management.

– Proficient in project management, planning, and control, with framework competence. Project management certification is an advantage.

– Full accountability for complete project scope, including financials and risk management. Independently led large and complex delivery projects and initiatives in an international business environment with external clients.

– Target-driven, organized, and customer-oriented. Proven leadership skills and effective people management. Proactive communication with stakeholders.

– Experience in direct customer interactions, with fluent English communication skills. Finnish is an advantage.

– Experience in the Marine industry is a major advantage.
